Open Competitions at Ringway

Entry Procedure

Entry into Open Competitions hosted by Ringway Golf Club is available using an online web form. Postal applications are no longer accepted. This method greatly improves the administration of the competitions and allows entrants to pay via card at the time of entry, to choose their preferred tee time and to verify the status of their entry and the competition in general.  (Ringway Golf Club reserves the right to refuse an entry without providing an explanation).

How it works

Entering a competition is a straightforward process and does not require anything more than basic computer knowledge.  All of our Open Competitions require immediate payment; until you have made the payment your entry will not be valid. Entries are taken on a “first come first served” basis as there are maximum numbers we can accommodate at each event. Once this limit is reached you are welcome to add yourself as a reserve should you wish to do so.  If you do not make the final field, your entry fee will of course be refunded.  Entries withdrawn before the closing date will be refunded, but if you enter a competition and do not arrive to play on the day of the event, the entry fee is non-refundable.

What you need to enter a competition

Before you enter one of our competitions you will need the following:

  • Your CDH ID. (Central Database of Handicapping ID)  All members of affiliated Golf Clubs will have been assigned a unique CDH ID, if you do not know your own CDH ID number then your Club Office should be able to provide you with this number.  If you are entering a pairs competition then you will need the CDH ID for each player you wish to enter.

  • A ‘competition’ handicap. All entrants into our open competitions must have a ‘competition’ handicap.  If you have not played in three qualifying events in the previous 12 months then your handicap will be ‘inactive’. Please contact your home club with regard to this matter.

  • A valid email address. You will receive confirmation of your on-line entry, payment, start time and information about the competition via email.

  • A valid credit/debit card. We require the entry fee to be paid online at the time of entry.  Our online system uses Intelligent Golf and SagePay software.  This is a secure method of payment. Rest assured your card will not be compromised and details will not be shared or used in any other way other than for transacting your entry. You will need the CDH number of all players to book online. Please obtain this from your own club before attempting to book.

Open Results

The results for each event are published on our website as soon after the event as is practicable.

Course Closure

In the event of severe weather,  which may cause the golf course to become unplayable,  providing all groups have completed at least 13 holes, the competition will be run over this shortened course.

If there is a two tee start, the prize money will be shared equally between the two separate competitions.

This will only happen in the event of severe weather conditions.

In the event of 13 holes not being able to be completed, a full  refund of your green fee (or green fee voucher) will be offered.

Refund / Cancellation Policy

If you cancel your booking more than 1 month before your date of play, you will receive a full refund of your entry fees.
If you cancel your booking with less than 1 week's notice you will lose your whole entry fee unless it is a medical reason.

Failure to Cancel Your Booking

If you fail to cancel your booking, or fail to turn up, the entry will be treated as a cancellation.

Booking Transferable

The Booking is completely transferable. Therefore, should you be unable to make your selected tee time,  you can offer the tee time to someone else such as a family member or friend.

Booking Conditions

The Event Organisers or Committee reserve the right to refuse any entry without assigning a reason. In the case of all disputes, which are referred to them, after proper consideration and investigation the decision of the Event Organisers or Committee is Final.
