Ringway Manchester & District Junior Open incorporating Ringway Golf Club Girls’ Open & The Telegraph Junior Qualifier

Terms & Conditions of Entry
1. The Manchester & District Junior Open (M & DJO) is an 18-hole stroke play event for the Fred Heap Trophies. White tees for boys and red tees for girls. The Fred Heap Championship Salver will be awarded for the lowest gross score and the Fred Heap Memorial Trophy for the lowest nett score. In the event of a tie for first place, the titles will be shared. All other prizes will be decided on a card play-off in accordance with Ringway Golf Club rules. Prizes will also be awarded for runner-up and third in both events. Competitors in the M & DJO may only win one prize and the scratch prize takes priority.
2. The Ringway Golf Club Girls’ Open is an 18-hole stroke play event for the Tom Harrison Trophy. The trophy will be awarded for the lowest nett score. In the event of a tie for first place, the title will be shared. All other conditions apply as appropriate. In addition, a girl may win a prize in the M & DJO.
3. The events will be played under the Rules of Golf and the Local Rules of Ringway Golf Club and are open to boys and girls under 18 years of age on the 1st January of the year of the competition. Entrants under 11 years of age must be accompanied on the course (at a distance of approx 50 yds) by a parent or guardian.
4. Maximum CONGU Competition Handicap is 28 for boys and 36 for girls. Certificates must be shown when registering on the day. Girls’ handicaps will be adjusted in both the gross and handicap competition in accordance with CONGU guidelines. The competitions will be qualifying for handicap purposes. Entries will not be accepted from players with Non-Competition handicaps.
5. The field will be limited to 48 players of which a minimum of 8 will be reserved for the Girls’ competition. In the event of either competition being over-subscribed, entries will be taken in handicap order.
6. All players are expected to attend the Prize Presentation which will take place after close of play at approximately 3.45 pm. Tee times will be from 10 – 11.30 am from the 1st and 10th tees.
7. After the closing date, start times will be notified by email on Tuesday 30th July. Start times will also be posted on the RGC website. Late entries may be accepted at the discretion of Organising Committee.
8. Caddies are not permitted. Parents and other interested parties must act as spectators only and must remain at a respectful distance and not in any way be involved with play.
9. Dress Code. A smart standard of dress is required on the Golf Course and in the Clubhouse - golf wear as sold by any golf shop or club Professional. Tailored shorts are permitted with socks that cover the ankle.
10. Competitors are requested to take a mobile phone on the course but it must be kept on silent and only used in case of special need or to seek a ruling (0161 980 2630).
11. The Telegraph Qualifier. The best gross scores by a boy and girl in their respective competition will be posted to the Telegraph leader board. Ties will be settled in accordance with The Telegraph Competition Rules.
12. Withdrawals. Please notify any withdrawals as soon as possible to the Ringway Pro Shop:-
