Ringway Golf Club

Buggy Policy

Revised February 2016

General Policy

The Club’s long term policy continues to be to hire buggies whilst at the same time providing secure storage space for existing buggies owned by members.  Thus, members already using the storage building may continue to do so but as space becomes available it will be assigned to Club buggies.  This policy is designed to allow more members, guests and visitors access to the use of a buggy.

Members wishing to use their own buggies must obtain prior permission and ensure they have adequate insurance.  They must have a medical need.

The availability of buggies is primarily designed to enable members, visitors and guests with a medical need to play golf.  Whenever possible, providing such golfers have pre-booked a buggy, priority will be given to their needs.

Should buggies be available and golfers without medical needs who wish to play non-competition golf, wish to hire them, they may do so.

Buggies may only be used for competition golf by golfers with a medical need.  A golfer should be 18 years of age or older.  Players who reach the age of 80 years have the option of using a buggy in competitions, regardless of having a medical need.

All bookings of buggies should be made through the Professional Shop.  Arrangements for storage of member buggies should be made via the Office.

The fee to members is £16.00 per buggy; the equivalent charge for 13 holes or less is £12.00.  The charge, for non-members is £25.00 per buggy.  These charges include insurance.

Members may take advantage of a seasonal fee which provides unlimited buggy use providing a buggy is available.  The fee is £320.00 for the period from  April to 31st October.  Payment of such fee does not guarantee that a buggy will be available.

The annual (March to March) charge for the storage of a member buggy is £195.00.  Members should ensure they have adequate insurance cover (personal & 3rd Party) and should annually submit a copy of this policy to the Office. The Club does not accept any liability for loss or damage to members’ buggies.

Health & Safety

All buggy users are required to read the Buggy Safety Policy and sign a Golf Buggy Safety Policy Acknowledgement Form.  They will be given instructions on the use of the buggy and may not travel at more than walking pace.  Written guidelines on suggested routes will be provided.
